The Flak Jacket is of course a newer version of the Half Jacket so I just had to treat myself. I am in to my sports eyewear and rarely found without my sunglasses on. My main sport is cycling but in the winter I will treat myself to at least one snowboarding holiday. I find the Flak Jacket XLJ lens comes round a bit further and keeps a bit more wind out of my eyes. I have tested the XLJ and standard lens. The standard lens I think looks a bit smarter but for performance the XLJ is best for me.
The polarised lenses are perfect for the UK conditions. We tend to have a lot more glare with all the rain and low sun and for me the polarised choice is well worth the extra money. I also find the polarised lenses are better on the snow, however I have heard some people saying they choose not to opt for the polarised lens.
The best way to find out the benefits is wear your polarised lens sunglasses and then try on a normal lens. If the floor is throwing up some glare you will instantly notice the difference.
Where I find the Flak Jacket sunglasses really start to show their benefits is their grip and their weight. The sunglasses really become an extension of your face and you will forget you have them on. I have struggled with metal sunglasses in the past in cold conditions and have found the lenses can steam up. The Flak Jacket sunglasses even though they do sit fairly snug to my face don't seem to steam up as much. I have really found the sunglasses have adjusted to my face shape and just fall into place.
