The picture doesn’t do them justice. These sunglasses are screaming from every corner of the track …sleek, look at me!
There’s something about the shape of these sunglasses that attracted me like a moth to flame. Such robust impact contrasted with soft curves. Shield sunglasses have a distinct advantage over rimmed as extend your peripheral viewpoint. This makes them great for sports players as provides a clear unobstructed view, allowing you to be more aware as you cycle. Essentially, the sides are completely covered from dirt dust impact, such a plus for cyclists, and they surpass ANSI Z87.1 standards for clarity and light refraction.
Oakley offer 3 lens shapes so you can customise your look to your individuality. The semi rimless design and vents for cooling airflow add that extra spark.
The real pluses for me are the snug fit from the hydrophilic rubber round the bridge and surge ports on the stems. This gives an aerodynamic feel when I’m cycling and also helps cool me down. Its great.

RADAR XL are aptly named because of their large lenses and an extended 7mm between the nose bridge and top of the frame to expand view. Initially, the XL were manufactured in accordance with cyclists wishes. The same problem was always re-occurring in that athletes view is restricted when they put their head down, view was restricted.

If you’re more into your helmet sports, Id say go for the RADAR XL Straight Blades. They don’t include the air pockets and have slightly straighter stems to slide between your ear and helmet like dream. The colours will take your breath away.
